I’ve had an interesting thought swimming around my head that I swear I’ve been meaning to write

You know what would be an interesting combination of characters?

Jazz and Harvey Dent/TwoFace

Specifically a Dent just getting back on his feet, released from Arkham and trying to learn how to exist in the world with his condition

I’m thinking a reveal gone wrong, Danny has disappeared to ancients know where, so Jazz cuts ties and Stays with her Uncle Dent, or maybe her bio dad if that’s more your game. Just an soaking wet and miserable Jazz showing up at his crappy apartment saying she’s his daughter or niece and him resisting the urge to flip a coin because he has enough on his plate as is, only to let her in telling her they’ll talk about it in the morning and point her to the shower so she can clean up and dry off

Why do I think this would be an interesting combo?

Jazz’s interest in psychology. A lot of times, as a fandom we depict her as an expert, and in a future timeline where she went to school and has been practicing psychology maybe, but default Jazz? She’s not an expert

Jazz wants to be a brain surgeon, psychology is an interest of hers but her understanding is very limited. She quotes Freud and Jung and has some amount of academic knowledge of the field, but she clearly doesn’t understand that psychoanalyzing friends and family and offering unwanted psychiatric advice is actually rude and something she shouldn’t do. She lacks understanding of actual therapy and is clumsy in applying her knowledge to people she knows

And I find putting her in proximity of someone with DID and probably PTSD would really be an eye opening experience for her

Because Dent might humor her, TwoFace will call her out. They both have hung around Harley to know enough to tell her, “maybe don’t take Freud so seriously” because man does everything go back to sex with Freud, and maybe quoting a guy that says she wants to boink her dad is not as strong of a point as she thinks it is

And the thing is, Harvey would likely still be receiving therapy as an outpatient, potentially taking meds to help deal with his conditions, likely a mood stabilizer or anxiety med to manage PTSD symptoms, so she’s front seat of him learning to live as a regular person in Gotham with his condition. She’s gonna see his good days, his bad days, the side effects of his medication, and it’s going to change her idea of what psychology is. It’s not just quoting things at people, it’s not just saying “this is good for people” but she’d see what it being put into practice would look like

Maybe that’ll push her away from the subject. Maybe it’ll make her more inclined to study, to learn not just about it as an abstract but how to actually apply it to help people. Learning about actual therapy practices. Maybe living first hand with mental illness would be the push to switch from neurosurgery to clinical psychology in her future plans

Also I just think that Dent would be empathetic and do what he could to help her, meanwhile TwoFace would help her cut loose a little, get a little chaotic and have some fun

You can’t tell me there’s not something fun about her and “Uncle Two-y” having a night on the town that only results in a little property damage. Relax Harv, they didn’t do anything too illegal, because they didn’t get caught or nothing

sooo in love with the mcspirk as heart, mind, and soul trifecta because they really are the collective embodiment of the human condition. emotion against intelligence with humanity right in the middle of it and yet they are incomplete without eachother. a lot can be said about spirk on their own but even the dynamic of mcspirk within "superego vs id" like there really is something special about them in their trio

Had this AU kinda simmering on the sidelines for a while, but after the recent lore drop for the alt timeline (and for being in the franchise long enough to understand the characters a lil better), I finally decided to drop this thing.

Basic premise of this thing is that instead of fully blowing up far away in space, Max wound up blowing up close enough to Earth's orbit (since Stinky was actually forced to toss her phone while leaving). This made it so his bits came barreling back like a meteor but recondensed themselves to form a body again (in part thanks to the dark matter still in him). During the process however the two halves of his brain refused to reconnect hence why there's two extra Maxes now instead of one.

Alt still shows up though, the above process took just enough time for the ending scene to play out but not long enough for Sam & Alt to leave the pier (the time elevator still gets sent away though so Alt's pretty much stranded in this timeline).

Now all 4 of em are kinda just stuck living together. Sam doesn't have the guts to ditch any of them because part of him wants to move on with Alt, but on the otherhand SuperEgo and ID remind him too much of when they were a whole person...rabbit.

Bit of a sidenote sorta-kinda but, obviously all the Maxes hate each others' guts and try to get rid of one another by almost any means necessary. Problem with this is the fact SuperEgo and ID came from the same person afterall, so they can't really hurt each other or else they wind up hurting themselves. If one experiences damage done to their body then the other will experience phantom pain from it, be it sudden bruises coming out of nowhere or spontaneous cuts popping up.

top three gear characters for me are so fucking funny because you have Axl Low at number one, nicest most "never did anything wrong ever" guy super duper sunshine guy. Followed closely by Testament who is extremely obsessive and dangerous (they're better now) and Asuka R Kreutz, Guilty Gear's number one war criminal more or less who is so wrapped up in self loathing and trying to fix everything that he has no idea who he is. And they're wasting time on psychoanalysis and MBTI test bullshit. If you got me a therapist who knew what Guilty Gear was I could list my top three favs and they'd just know what presecription to write me right away. "He's mentally ill in a way medicine can't help I do legitimately believe I should prescribe him a trip to the moon."

One of the changes made in TGCF audio drama episode 6 is about the origin of the scorpion snake of Banyue. In the original version, the scropion spirit and snake spirit were forced to mate, gave birth to scorpion snakes, then were killed by the king of Banyue. In the revised edition, the ghosts of scorpion spirit and snake spirit lingered on after their death and went to find a ghost king in a faraway place to ask for his help for revenge. The ghost king combined their bodies into the scorpion snake to terrorize the people of Banyue for eternity.

I think this revision reinforced the theme in the story that ghosts and ghost realm, vilified and shunned as they are, stand for justice and fairness to a much greater degree than people might think. The Heavenly Realm headed by Jun Wu enforces order and maintains a semblence of peace and harmony in the world; it rewards perpetrators of violence and covers up any traces of violence. But if you want real justice, if you want to adress the wrongs done to you and seek revenge on evil, it'd be better to ask help from ghosts or even turn into a powerful ghost yourself.

The hierarchy of the world in Chinese myths puts the heavenly realm at the top, human realm in the middle, and ghost realm at the bottom, and most Chinese proverbs and idioms involving ghosts have negative connotations. TGCF challenges the traditional notoriety and lowliness attributed to ghosts in this sense.

pierre wakes up one fine morning to discover there are two (2) other pierres in the room with him. he has no time to try and figure out what the hell is going on because he was supposed to get brunch with charles and charles is uncharacteristically early to pierre's apartment.

as it turns out, one of the pierres is somehow even more smug and leering than real pierre, flirting outrageously with charles and trying to proposition him immediately. real pierre is jealous and aghast but before he has a chance to go rescue his charles from this false pierre, the second pierre starts scoffing that the first pierre is a DOG trying to brazenly sex up charles without any finesse when charles deserves to be wooed and made tender love to. real pierre is like Wait, Not You, Too, because first of all that's HIS charles. and anyway, charles isn't into all that. at least not with pierre.

or -- is he. because charles is glowing pink and dimpling in between the two fake pierres, looking genuinely flattered by the attention. and now real pierre is going crazy insane because could he been having charles all this time????????? and also he needs to figure out how the fuck these other pierres got here and how to get rid of them.

and the real pierre should say no but charles isn't saying no either and as we said. real pierre is going crazy insane.

my fake fic logic is that pierre getting split up is due to his internal conflict with himself over his Feelings for charles which he thinks are unrequited. and feeling Guilty and Wrong and Bad results in his id (who wants to dick down charles in all sorts of deviant ways) and his superego (who wants to wife up charles so bad) getting separated from his normal ego self. naturally this is all a thin veneer for my real purpose which is charles getting railed by three pierres.

also id pierre kinda flirts (tauntingly) with regular ego pierre bc. well. pierre the kind of guy to fuck his clone. id pierre has charles sitting in his lap, fucking charles open with his fingers while superego pierre helps keeps charles's legs spread and pets charles's weeping cock, murmuring soft praise into charles's ear…… they're all facing regular ego pierre and id pierre is like "aren't you going to help?" to regular pierre, eyebrow raised.
